Remembering Places
Remembering Places (Remembering Dreams) is a large earthenware sculpture that encapsulates personal memory of places where dreams and life occurred. The piece’s exterior is cracked and deteriorated to represent age and time that batters our memories and the vessels in which we carry them. The rooms are vivid to evoke the act of remembering. The piece features a thick colorful base to allow it to be secured to an aquatic tree as it was made for exhibition at The Swamp Show, curated by Charlotte Kohlmann. Remembering Places was created in Esther’s home studio in 2021.
