Effigies
Effigies is a collection of handmade figurines in appreciation for the prevalence of effigies in ancient societies. Each effigy is different and an exploration of form and expression similar to a sketch or draft. The core collection was made in terracotta and finished with iron oxide to create vibrant reds and depth in the many cavities and consisted of thirty-five effigies, four pinch pots, three bottles, mini necklaces, and stands. It was created for participation in Sideways Door (an art fair and event presented by Loculus Collective on August 1st, 2021). The collection is continuous and ever-changing. New sets are expected in the future.
